Cycle Routes 1-

Swanton Morley

Start in the Sparham Pools car park.  Walk along the north side of the pools and eastwards along the Wensum Valley.  Cross the stile into the wooded boggy area between the river and drainage ditches.  This area becomes waterlogged after heavy rain so avoid during wet spells.  At the end of the wood, follow the track through Walsis' Farm and at the bend in the tarmac road, turn right across the farmyard between the barn and portacabin.  Follow the narrow path around the Lenwade Cricket Club grounds and then onto the road from Lenwade House Hotel to the A1067.  Cross the road onto Heath Lane which will take you to Marriott's Way. Turn left and follow the bridleway until the first bridge. On the right just beyond the bridge is a path which takes you onto the road to Blackwater Farm.  At the crossroads take the second on the left, Grove Lane, to the A1067.  Turn right and then left, down Lyng Rd, being mindful of traffic.  At the grassy lane on the left where there is a metal gate, turn into the field and walk down the hill inside the field to avoid traffic.  This is a permissive path by kind consent of the Sayers of Sparham Hall.  At the field corner, walk through the hole in the hedge onto the road, again watch for traffic, and then back to the car park.
